
Bursa Technical University's (BTU) ‘Digital Language Lab’ project has won a grant of 250 thousand Euros from the Turkish National Agency. Within the scope of the project with international partners, educational tools will be developed to enable teachers to be more effective in the digital world.
Bursa Technical University has achieved a significant success with the ‘Digital Language Lab’ project within the scope of Erasmus+ KA220-SCH Programme and was entitled to receive 250 thousand Euros grant support from the Turkish National Agency. In the ‘Digital Language Lab (DLL)’ project, which will last for 30 months in total, there are partner institutions from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland and Turkey. The project team, which focuses on developing educational materials and tools that will enable teachers to be more effective in the digital world, includes Lect. Ozlem Cengiz, Lect. Elif Atalı from BTU School of Foreign Languages and Lect. Ali Kılıç from International Relations Office.
Digitalisation in Language Education. The ‘Digital Language Lab (DLL)’ project aims to enable teachers to use modern tools in language teaching by increasing their digital knowledge and skills. Within the scope of the project, a common curriculum for language teaching at A1-B2 levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) will be prepared and a digital platform will be developed to provide teachers with language activities supported by Web 2.0 tools and training content for the use of these activities in the classroom.
Digital Platform to be Established
With the project, a digital platform specially designed for teachers will be established. This platform will provide language teaching activities with digital tools for teachers, as well as access to educational materials and professional development opportunities. During the project, it is aimed to increase the quality of the project outputs through co-operation meetings between the partners and the sharing of good practice examples.
Rector Caglar We Care Very Much About International Projects
Congratulating the lecturers who received support for their projects, BTS Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar drew attention to the importance of international scale projects. Stating that they attach great importance to internationalisation studies in order to make Bursa Technical University more visible in the international arena, Rector Çağlar said, ‘While our cooperation negotiations with many universities and institutions around the world continue, we continue to meet in joint projects and sign protocols with different countries. Last month, we signed many collaborations at the EAIE International Education Conference and Fair held in France. On the one hand, our academicians also announce the name of BTU all over the world with international projects such as Erasmus. Our current goal for internationalisation is to take part in the European Universities Association.’
