How Can I Find Out When to Apply for International Student Admission Quotas?

How Can I Apply for International Student Recruitment?

If the conditions specified in the application guide for the relevant academic year are met and the relevant documents are obtained, direct application can be made through the "Online Application System", which will be opened on the University's web page on the recruitment dates for student applications from abroad. Candidates are required to make their applications by following the steps in the relevant announcements published on our web page.


What are the accepted diplomas/exams (SAT, IB, etc.) and their minimum scores?

Application requirements are updated every year by our university and these requirements are explained in detail in the Application Guide during the recruitment process of the relevant academic year. In this context, it will be useful to follow the relevant announcements published on our intoffice.btu.edu.tr web page and our website for up-to-date information.


Who can I contact if I have problems with the application or registration process?

You can send all your questions as e-mail to intoffice@btu.edu.tr address of our International Student Office. Your questions will be answered as soon as possible (you can write in English, Turkish, French)


Does BTU have scholarships for international students?

There are no special scholarship opportunities offered by our university.


What are the Tuition Fees for International Students?

Tuition fees are updated every year by our university and these fees are stated in the Application Guide during the recruitment process of the relevant academic year. In this context, it will be useful to follow the relevant announcements published on our intoffice.btu.edu.tr web page for up-to-date information.


Do I have to take the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS)?

 YÖS is not conducted by our university. The table of the country conditions specified in the application guide published in the process of receiving international student applications should be examined or you can check the current information on our intoffice.btu.edu website.


Can I Transfer to BTU as an International Student from a Different University?

Our university does not accept international students from abroad or domestically by transfer. International students who wish to study at our university must follow the relevant processes published on our web page within the scope of international student admission.


What is the language of instruction at your university / Is English the language of instruction at BTU / Are there any departments with English as the language of instruction?

No department of our university provides 100% English education. Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Polymer Materials Engineering are 30% English and 70% Turkish. All other departments are 100% Turkish.


What are the application requirements for International Student Admission?

When are the application deadlines for international student quotas?

Students are recruited periodically throughout the year, taking into account the quota situation.  You can follow the announcements on the website.


What is the duration of the programs?

The undergraduate study period is 4 years.


What is the Turkish Proficiency Exam?

It is an exam that measures listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in Turkish. Those who want to get a B2 or C1 Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate without studying at Bursa TÖMER can take this exam.


How long is the Turkish Language Teaching (TÖMER) Program?

A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1 courses are completed in a total of 960 hours (corresponding to 25 weeks).

- All courses, including Academic Turkish, are completed in 1100 hours.


Can international students benefit from exchange programs?

Our international students can benefit from exchange programs.


Can international students apply for dormitories? What are the application requirements and opportunities? What are the dormitory opportunities like KYK?

Dormitory service is not currently provided at our university. Applications can be made by contacting KYK and private dormitories.


Can I apply for undergraduate programs once a year?

There is no application limits. 


Since I have not yet graduated from high school, I have not received my high school diploma. What should candidates in this situation do?

Temporary graduation certificate / graduation certificate is not accepted, application must be made with a high school diploma.


Is YÖS held at BTU? Is YÖS conducted by other universities accepted?

There is no YÖS exam within our university. You can review the accepted YÖS exams on the application guide or you can review them on our intoffice.btu.edu.tr website.


Do you have a quota by nationality?

Country quotas are applied for international student admission.


My exam/diploma result announced in the application criteria will be announced after the application date. Can I apply?

Temporary graduation certificate / graduation certificate and exam results that cannot be declared with a document through the system are not accepted, application must be made with a high school diploma.


I want to apply for graduate programs (Master's and PhD). What should I do?

The Graduate School of Graduate Studies makes two recruitments a year. You can find detailed information on the website enstitu.btu.edu.tr and you can contact enstitu@btu.edu.tr for any questions you may have.


Do I have to pay any fees to apply for undergraduate programs?

Our applications can be made online free of charge.


How can I apply for a student ID card?

Student ID cards are delivered to students who are entitled to study at our university after they are printed, without any further request.


Do I have to have health insurance / WHAT IS GENERAL HEALTH INSURANCE AND HOW CAN I APPLY?

Our university doesnot require any health insurance, but health insurance is required for visa and residence procedures.


Do I need to bring the originals of my registration documents?

The original graduation documents must be completed and submitted to our office in person within the period given after the right to enroll.


WHERE CAN I GET MY EQUIVALENCE CERTIFICATE?

You can access the details on the edenklik.meb.gov.tr website of the Ministry of National Education.


WHEN SHOULD I PAY MY TUITION FEE?

Students who submit their TÖMER Certificate are required to pay their tuition fees within the specified period in the following semester.


How can I suspend/freeze my registration?

You can contact the Dean's Office of the Faculty you are enrolled in for your registration freeze request.


How can I deregister?

You can apply by coming to our Student Affairs Department in person.


CAN I CHANGE DEPARTMENTS AFTER ENROLLING IN A DEPARTMENT AT YOUR UNIVERSITY?

There is no department change at our university. Students who want to change departments must reapply for the department they want.  


DO I HAVE TO PASS THE TURKISH PROFICIENCY EXAM?

Students who want to study at our university are required to declare a minimum B2 level TÖMER certificate accepted by our university.


WHICH TURKISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION CENTERS' DOCUMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

In order to start their education, candidates accepted to the university must be successful in the "Turkish Proficiency Exam" organized by Bursa Technical University BURSA TÖMER or the relevant exams of Yunus Emre Institute and must submit their B2 Turkish language certificates.


WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT RENEW MY REGISTRATION?

Undergraduate education must be completed within a maximum of 7 years.


HOW CAN I GET AN ACCEPTANCE LETTER?

After paying the Guidance, Counseling and Orientation Fee of 2000 TL, students can receive their acceptance letter through the obs system.


I AM HAVING PROBLEMS LOGGING INTO THE OBS SYSTEM DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS WITH THE E-MAIL ADDRESS I USED TO APPLY WITH BEFORE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It is recommended to apply with a separate e-mail address for each application period at different application times.


I GET THE ERROR CODE "PASSPORT NUMBER IS already REGISTERED" DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you receive an error in the system in this way, you can complete your application by changing 1 letter or number in your passport number, If you are placed in any program, your passport number will be corrected and updated during final registration.
