Residency Process

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Residence Permit Application Form: https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ikamet/basvuru/ilkbasvuru (with wet signature)

2. Photocopy of Passport or an Equivalent Document: photocopy of the page with the holder's photograph and personal information, the pages that demonstrate entry-exit, the pages that hold the visa information and the original passport itself must be ready on the appointment date.

3. Student Statement Certificate: (newly obtained) document that demonstrates active student status with barcode from E-Government or with wet signature.

4. Four (4) Copies of Biometric Photograph: The photographs must be ready to submit online during E-Residency Application. 

For Extension of the Duration of Residency Applications, 2 (two) biometric photographs will suffice.

5. Valid Health Insurance: Students registered after 01/01/2024 must have General Health Insurance (GSS) from SGK.  

6. Document Demonstrating Proof of Residence:

If residing in your own property, photocopy of title deed; (For extension applications "residential certificate (Yerleşim Yeri ve Diğer Adres Belgesi) and invoice" will suffice.)

For first-time applicants; If residing in rental property, a notarized copy of your lease agreement, a photocopy of the land owner's title deed

For those applying for extension; Residential certificate, in case of its absence and the applicant is under a lease agreement, notarized photocopy of the lease agreement, photocopy of the land owner's title deed and invoice of electricity, gas or water under the applicant's name.

•If residing in a hotel or similar housing, relevant documents proving your stay,

•If residing in student dormitories, document with signature/e-signature and seal/stamp proving your stay, photocopy of SGK Statement of Employment of the authorized signatory,

•If residing with a third party, the third party person's notarized commitment (if married, the notarized commitment of the spouse as well)

7. Receipt Proving the Payment of the Residency Card Fee: can be paid on https://dijital.gib.gov.tr or in a Tax Office.

8. In case of the applicant being younger than 18 (eighteen) years old:


                    a. Letter of Consent (Must be apostiled and translated into Turkish)


                    b. Birth certificate (Must be apostiled and translated into Turkish)

9. National Electronic Notification System (UETS) :  required to submit for extension applications and holders of Republic of Türkiye ID card.
