Bursa Technical University (BTU) has registered its "BTU Career Model," a first in Turkey. Thanks to the BTU Career Model, students' futures are planned from their first year, and they graduate as work-ready professionals, supported by industry mentors throughout their academic journey.

Crowning its successes in educational quality with consecutive accreditations, awards, and project grants, Bursa Technical University (BTU) supports its students not only with theoretical and practical education but also with the BTU Career Model. Designed to ensure students' success both during their academic years and after graduation, the BTU Career Model has been officially registered by the General Directorate of Copyrights under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Guiding Students in Their Career Journey
Within the BTU Career Model, the Mentorship Program assigns each student both an "industry mentor" and an "alumni mentor." These mentors guide students from different perspectives, helping them shape their careers. The mentorship programs not only support students' professional development but also enable them to build strong professional networks and seize opportunities in the business world.

Stepping into Professional Life with the BTU Career Model
One of the strongest pillars of the BTU Career Model is the Workplace Vocational Training Program (İMEP). Through this program, fourth-year students have the opportunity to work full-time for one semester in leading companies in their sectors. The hands-on experience gained in real work environments deepens students' industry knowledge while increasing their chances of employment even before graduation. This program ensures that students gain sectoral experience before graduation, giving them a head start in their careers.

BTU views its students' education not just as an academic period but as a pathway to their future careers, preparing them strongly for the professional world even before they graduate.

Career Counseling for Students
Another key component of the BTU Career Model is Career Counseling and Guidance services, provided by the Bursa Technical University Career Development Application and Research Center (BUKAGEM). BUKAGEM offers one-on-one consulting services in career planning, profession selection, job search strategies, interview techniques, and CV preparation, helping students prepare for professional life.

Under the BTU Career Model, the Mentorship Program assigns each student mentors from BTU alumni and industry professionals, guiding them throughout their career journey. The program supports students' professional growth while helping them expand their professional networks.

Employment Support with the Alumni Tracking System
Within the scope of the BTU Career Model, career events, fairs, certificate programs, and training sessions are organized. Additionally, through the Alumni Tracking and Support System, graduates continue to receive support even after completing their studies. This system provides career counseling, job placement assistance, and mentorship programs for alumni.

Rector Çağlar: We Will Continue to Be the University of Firsts
Expressing his pride in BTU's pioneering role in education, projects, and collaborations, BTU Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar emphasized that the BTU Career Model is one of these groundbreaking initiatives.

Highlighting the university’s continuous support for students through hands-on training and workplace programs, Rector Çağlar stated:
"Through the processes we have established within our Career Model, we prepare our students for the industry. By assigning mentors, enabling them to step into professional life through İMEP, and supporting them with various events, we see the fruits of our Career Model in the high employment rates of our graduates. 90% of our graduates find employment within the first year. Moreover, employers express a 92.5% satisfaction rate with BTU graduates. In the employer satisfaction survey announced by the Council of Higher Education, BTU ranks among the top three universities. We will continue our student-centered efforts without slowing down, bridging industries in Bursa, our production hub, with our work-ready graduates. Alongside our faculty’s R&D studies, I believe that the qualified employment we provide to industries through the BTU Career Model contributes to the vision of the 'Century of Turkey.'"
